ME
Hello, I'm Xiao Shen. I'm a UX Designer who designs with curiosity and structures with purpose. Grounded in human-centered design principles from my time in Sweden and Finland, I love untangling messy user workflows and transforming them into beautiful, intuitive interfaces. When I'm not in Figma, I'm usually exploring the outdoors with my camera or hiking nature trails.

WORK

PHONE GRAVE
Due to the development of technology, phones are updated at an increasingly rapid pace. Phone Grave is an interactive way to encourage people to recycle their unused mobile phones — whenever a phone is recycled, a phone grave appears in binary form through holographic projection.
RUN AWAY
More and more international students are coming to Finland, and socializing is becoming a problem. This mobile app brings together all the local student activities and promotes friendships through a new matching method, so that people are not lonely and depressed.
SHRINE
In modern society, the cult of celebrity causes people to indulge in fantasies and ignore reality. This project combines traditional shrine ideas with modern technology, using interactive installation to show that people addicted to their illusions may be scared by reality. It warns people not to overindulge in fantasy.
COLOR PARADOX
A photo-sharing platform built from a colorblind perspective. After the first login, a color blindness test determines the user's type. When a colorblind user shares a photo, a special filtered image appears for non-colorblind users — giving them a sense of what the world looks like through colorblind eyes.
CHECKMATE
There are a growing number of people working remotely. Many different software programs need to be used simultaneously, creating the risk of missing or forgetting messages. The Checkmate platform helps users organize different software and create to-do lists in an easy way, making remote work more organized.
SWEASY
Focusing on immigrants' interdependent experiences in navigating banking and administrative processes in a new country, where success hinges on access to accurate information and collaboration among various administrative services. Designing for interdependence — rethinking tech's self-sufficiency bias and valuing human differences.
